Best Zombie Video Games

With the success of zombie movies this decade it makes sense that developers would turn to video games as well to bank on the resurgence of zombie love. There have been a lot of great zombie games for various gaming systems throughout the years, so here is a list of the top ones that you should play first.

Zombies At My Neighbors

Released for the SNES in 1993, this run and gun video game made by the always great LucasArts developers was a fun and hilarious oddity of a game. The premise is pretty simple, you play as Zeke or Julie, teenage kids who wake up to find the zombies have taken over their neighborhood. You run around different levels finding keys and warp points all while water gunning, weed wacking, throwing exploding soda cans and bazooking zombies in your path. The game was such a cult hit that it was re-released for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console so younger fans could play the classic game.

Resident Evil

The original resident evil game used zombies as a springboard to tell a winding, sometimes convoluted story about an evil genetics corporation and the SWAT team trying to stop them. The game has of course been made into several movies staring Milla Jovovich and the franchise has continued to this day with the most recent being Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It was one of the highest selling games of 2009 which just goes to show, people still love their zombies.

House of the Dead (series)

The House of the Dead arcade game series is one of the most popular light gun arcade games. The story isn’t really the high point of the House of the Dead series. Basically you walk around houses and different settings killing zombies and other weird creatures. The graphics were great and the light gun action was pretty fun, but it was pretty difficult and was a total money drain if you actually wanted to play through the game to the end. The series has been ported to the Xbox, PC and the Wii with separately sold light guns that resemble smaller spyder paint ball guns.

Finding The Best Arcade Games Today

Arcade games, historically, emerged as early as the late 1920′s where you could find theme parks which combined mechanical form of gaming machines and a great fun atmosphere. This was the beginning of modern gaming. The first pinball machines appeared in the and were mainly coin-operated. To play the game, you sloted in your coin or token and when that run out the game ended. You then had to purchase further tokens if so desired. Now, most pinball machines use solid state electronics to operate. Scores and bonuses are all electronically controlled.

In the seventies, one of the major arcade games manufacturers Atari, which was started by Ted Dabney and Nolan Busnell dominated the arcade games industry. With viral marketing and the sheer addictive nature of these games, – including The Pacman series, Donkey Kong, Pong and Space Invaders – many video arcade game machines sprouted up all over cities especially popular social hangouts such as bars, college campuses, supermarkets, movie theaters and gambling houses. In fact, te presence of these machines in seedier places rather led to a dip in its popularity as increasing people perception of it changed. The advanced gaming console technology also contributed to the decline in the popularity of these slot machines.

With this decline in fortunes, dedicated arcade games businesses started to suffer and many had to close down or diversify. Diversification involved offering other attractions such as rides with arcade games being only a small part of the business and at least offering arcade lovers to still indulge in their passion. Most of these centers are so different, they are no longer what they used to be.

These days, playing arcade games has moved on even further and they are readily available on many internet platforms. If you get fed up sitting at home with your xbox360 as your only comfort, you can decide to surf the net not only for free arcade games but also for the fantastic social interaction that a good gaming platform offers. With these free internet games, there is no need to slot coins, neither do you need to physically get to the appropriate venue. All you need is an web connection – preferably a broadband connection – and a penchant for arcade games. You will discover that you are spoilt for choice, with so many new games beckoning.

The progress of the genre and quality of arcade games has been fantastic. However, the basic theme which makes an arcade game what it is, is still present in even modern games. The gamer is generally offerd different levels with each next level progressively more difficult than the previous one. There is also more interaction with the user these days and newer games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter I and II offer two player fighting themes. Other type of arcade games include dance games – such as Dance Dance Revolution and DrumMania – and rail shooting games such as Time Crisis and House Of The Dead.

Arcade games have changed through the years to be widely available on good gaming platforms. If you love immersing yourself in arcade games, there are many choices available today.

Why Its Best to Select XBOX 360 Games Bundle

Who does not like to own XBOX 360? Choosing the right XBOX 360 games bundle can be a bit of a chore though. Lots of individuals still fear the red ring of death. Also sometimes called the “rrod”. For the most part, these problems have been fixed.

Many consumers find difficulties in choosing a problem-free version of the console. Most versions of the XBOX 360 have been upgraded with newer parts to prevent the rrod but there are still other errors that abound with older models. The E-71, E-74, and the E-79 come to mind. Sometimes the issue is with the hardware requiring Microsoft’s assistance if you don’t have the technical skills to fix it.

The latest models are free of these issues. Do not listen to the stores though and pick out the right XBOX 360 games bundle for you. The first game that you should consider is the game of the year version. The model shown here is the Xbox 360 Elite; it is black and comes bundles with Halo 3 and Fable 2. Most elite’s have the hdmi outputs in the back, and come with 120 gig hard drives.

This version runs for around 0.This one can burn a hole in your wallet, unless you happen to be rich. A less feature-packed bundle is the “arcade” bundle, consisting of the basic XBox 360 with 2 arcade game sets, and without a hard drive or any memory card. Most arcade models have 256 megabytes of internal storage though, so you can save your games, just no updates or music. Most of the time, this bundle sells for 0.00 USD and is the most wallet friendly.

There is middle ground however; the pro system is available for 0.00 USD. You won’t usually find any games included with this bundle, but there are other pleasant surprises that are included. Mainly a 60 gig hard drive, wireless controller, headset, and hdmi output. This is a nice bundle for those looking at the middle ground. With all the demos games that are available on the internet you won’t get bored while waiting to buy new games.

The motherboards are the biggest variations between the types. The arcades are all fitted with the latest motherboards that aren’t as power hungry, or hot, but the pros and elite’s have been a little slower to receive this upgrade. The arcade comes with a wired controller, and no hdmi port. The rrod has been eliminated and there is a 1 year warranty out of the box. Do not forget to register.

In closing finding the right XBOX 360 games bundle for you is something you will have to decide. In addition to the versions of the XBOX 360 above there are still plenty of old models on the market. These may have the rrod problem. To be sure when the product was manufactured, check the back of the box; anything after the year 2009 should be okay. Now do you want the low end, middle ground, or uber expensive high end bundle?

Enhance your XBOX 360 Gaming Experience and prevent annoying errors.

For me, there is nothing like the feeling of flying an airplane. There’s something about being up in the air and looking out onto the horizon, that exhilarates me in a way few other things do. So in my free time: when I’m not working or taking flying classes, I like to play flight simulator games on my computer. I’ve tried out a whole bunch over the years, and I decided to write this article to help those people looking for the best airplane simulation games out there.

The bad news is, as far as I know, there isn’t a free flight simulator online or any strictly online airplane simulation games; unless you count the google flight simulator, which isn’t that fun really.

I should say that I’m reviewing these airplane simulation games for their sense of realism. I’m not looking for fancy graphics or arcade style speeds, I’m looking for the closest thing I can get to flying in my computer chair. I’m also really more interested in airplane simulator games, as opposed to something like a helicopter flight simulator or jet simulator; although all these games have them and I do use them from time to time.

So here are some of the flight simulator games I’ve played:

Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Microsoft has always had a really fun line of flight simulator games, and this one is no different.

In terms of realism, it’s OK, definitely not professional simulator quality, but a fun recreation. It’s a game targeted at a general audience so it has a very arcade type feel to it and has a lot of “missions” and other activities to do: You can race friends online, there’s search and rescue missions, etc.

The variety of planes and jets is pretty good, but the cockpits are definitely not 100% accurate, some look better than others, but some are just generic.

The only problem with this game is that it never really ran well on my computer. I have a slightly older computer and Microsoft really ratcheted up the graphics. It still worked though. I have read reviews online of people not being able to install the game but I never experienced that.

You can get a copy of this game online anywhere from Amazon to eBay.

Pro Flight Simulator

Pro Flight Simulator is currently my favorite flight simulator online. It’s definitely not the prettiest flight simulator but there is nothing I’ve found yet that compares to the level of realism this game has. It is basically a flight school simulator recreated on your home computer.

It maps the entire globe – I wouldn’t know if the scenery is 100% realistic but it seems pretty good to me – and it has a lot of real life airports. You can either set the simulator to the time of day and current weather conditions according to your computer clock, or you can just make them up and play with all the different combinations; it’s hard to fly in a snow or lightening storm, but it’s certainly fun.

It’s also not only an airplane flight simulator, but a helicopter flight simulator, and a military jet simulator as well. You can also fly the 1903 Wright Flyer – it’s not as fun as it sounds though. They also update the game pretty regularly with updated maps and more aircraft. The best part about the aircraft is they are 100% cockpit realistic, which none of the other games have.

The only downside to this game – other than it’s looks; which can get a little ugly sometimes, is the price tag. The basic simulator is about the price of the other two games, but the world scenery package; which is much cooler, costs a little more. But keep in mind that you’re buying an actual flight simulator, not just a game. I have paid hundreds of dollars to take flying classes that have simulators worse than this one, so it’s really not that bad. It also runs pretty well on my computer, have never really had any problems.

You can get this game through their website and you can download it online. If you’re really interested in flying, or thinking about taking flying classes, this is a great place to start.

X-Plane is a pretty fun flight simulator game as well. It’s not only a airplane simulator game, but it has helicopters, jets, spy planes, and even the space shuttle (which you have to admit is pretty cool). The only downside to the selection of planes and jets is that none of them have realistic cockpits, they are all just generic models; which is kind of a bummer if you’re looking for a more realistic simulation or learning experience.

This game, like Microsoft Flight Simulator is a little arcadey and marketed to a more general audience but it is really fun and much more realistic in the flying department than Microsoft’s game. It’s also not a very pretty game, but that really doesn’t matter to me; It runs better than Microsoft’s Flight Simulator does on the same computer and that’s all that matters.

The other downside to this game is that the scenery is just generic, so you can’t fly past any famous landmarks, it’s just purely random scenery. That might be a letdown for some people, but it’s not that bad.

The game also has a plane and part maker but I’ve never really touched them. I wouldn’t dare try and make my own craft, I only fly them.

I find myself playing this game more often when I’m in the mood for a quick game of flying jets or trying the space shuttle out and not really so much an airplane simulation experience.

Well thanks for reading my reviews for some of the best airplane simulators online. See you guys in the sky.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for the Xbox 360 offers an online version of this classic arcade game. There has recently been a retro-gaming revolution with the re-introduction or re-building of classic 2D arcade games in versions that work for online play using the Xbox 360. This version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat offers improved sound effects, great music, versus screen codes online, and a four player versus challenge mode to give players an improved arcade experience on the Xbox 360.

With Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on Xbox 360 the timing and game play from the original game are duplicated very close to perfectly. The best thing is that the timing and game play work just as well for online matches. However if you happen to find an opponent who has a slow internet connection there may be some lag time.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Xbox 360 is the descendant of the original Mortal Kombat that was so popular in the early 90′s. There were two well known fighting games at that time, MK and Street Fighter. Each of those games had their strong points and each was original and had many new features. Originally MK had a realistic look with vicious finishing moves and violent fatalities. Each new version of the game has become more graphic and extreme. The original Mortal Kombat was known as a mile marker in the history of fighting games because of the never before seen block button and digitized actors.

Over the years Mortal Kombat has gone through several versions and improvements, adaptations to different consoles and now the addition of online game play. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Xbox 360 is a surprisingly accurate version of the original arcade game. The game download Mortal Kombat 3 Xbox 360 is running around and the ability to play online is surely worth that price. After all Mortal Kombat was never much fun to play alone, by going online players can get a real challenge by fighting against other online players any time day or night.

The online play of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Xbox 360 offers two different modes. The “one on one” fight which can be played as a ranked or unranked game or the unranked only mode “versus challenger” provides different styles of matches and different challenges. Four separate players can connect and wait their turn in a winner continues set of matches. The players who are not participating in the match can watch the fighting while they wait for their turn.

Sadly for those who are not familiar with Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Xbox 360 moves there is no move list or information included with the game download. This means you have to remember or locate a list somewhere in order to be able to perform moves such as finishing moves, and each individual fighter’s special moves.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the Xbox 360 gives players a whole new slant on this classic arcade game and by offering the ability to go online players will never have to search for an opponent amongst their friends.

Why 80′s Arcade Games are the Best

Reminiscing the 80s would never be complete without mentioning about 80s arcade games. An arcade game is a coin-operated gaming machine that you would usually find in entertainment centers, video arcades, and even in restaurants. Popular arcade games are redemption games that give players rewards based on their score in the game; computer-controlled video games; and pinball games wherein the player manipulates one or more metal balls on a playfield.

Arcade games began to be so popular in the early 70s. Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney made Atari that released the Pong video game (based on ping-pong or table tennis) that became almost everyone’s favorite. The success of the Pong video game spawned lots of imitations and created more and more avid video players. Eventually video game arcades abounded through the 80s. They can be found in the malls, department stores, bars and even in restaurants and movie houses. They’re everywhere in the United States

Popular 80s Arcade Games

In the 80s, arcade games became even more popular. Some of the most influential 80s arcade games were the following:

Space Invaders – This game, one of the predecessors of modern video games, was created by the Japanese Toshihiro Nishikado. It was first released in 1978 in Japan. This arcade game mimics a shooting gallery with a movable laser (resembling a cannon) placed below the video screen. There were video aliens that were designed to disrupt the game by passing across the screen and by raining bombs and rays that are deadly. The goal of the player is to avoid those deadly rays and bombs and shoot the aliens so that they won’t reach the bottom of the screen or else, he or she will lose in the game.

Pac-Man – This was created by Namco and was first distributed in 1980. It game remains to be popular today though it has already taken new forms. Compared to many 80s arcade games, Pac-Man was not violent, was easy to play and was enjoyable, which explains why it clicked both to young and old, girls and boys alike.

The yellow circle with a mouth called Pac-Man makes people remember this game so well through the years. The game is played by maneuvering Pac-Man through the maze, letting him eat small dots and different item prizes along the way. Ghosts named Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde on the other hand chase Pac-Man.

Donkey Kong – Another video game that emerged so popular among other 80s arcade games was the Donkey Kong. It was made by Nintendo and was introduced in 1981. Basically the game is played by maneuvering the chief character, Mario (formerly Jumpman),across a series of platforms. As Mario goes through the platforms, he has to get rid of obstacles that prevent him from rescuing a damsel in distress from the hands of Donkey Kong.

The abovementioned are only some of the most popular 80s arcade games. There were also the Battlezone, Pengo, Tron, Tetris, Rubik’s cube and many others. The craze for 80s arcade games only began to subside in the late 80s when newer forms of entertainment were being introduced such as advanced home video game consoles but 80s arcade games didn’t totally die out until the coming of fighting games like the Street Fighter ll that required two players.
